Columbia Institute of Engineering & technology is hosting ‘Open Campus Recruitment Drive’ for final term students for ‘Synergy Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai’.

The Company is conducting this recruitment drive for Engineers into various upcoming and existing projects.

This is ‘First-in-kind’ campus selection drive by Synergy Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai from Raipur, which has got overwhelming response from various institutes from the region.

Visit to CGSIRD
The students and staff of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology Departments visited Chhattisgarh State Institute of Rural Development (CGSIRD) Nimora on Wednesday, the 28th April 2010. The team was welcome by the staff of the institute. Dr. R. K. Singh, Director gave a brief account of the objectives and activities of the institute. He also informed that satellite communication has been installed; it will be used for training of the panchayat representatives all over the state. He proposed that the students interested in the knowhow of the SATCOM may take training in the institute under summer training programme of the university.

• Mr. Himanshu Thakkar, Lecturer in Computer Science & Engineering of CIET Raipur attended a workshop entitled Recent Trends in Object Oriented Software Testing held from 12th – 14th April 2010. The workshop was organized by NIT Rourkela and sponsored by CSIR Delhi.

• Dr. D. S. Bal, Director, Columbia Group of Institutions, was invited to act as judge for the 8th Young Scientist’s Congress 2010 in the subject Engineering & Technology held at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University on Friday, the 9th April 2010. The congress was sponsored by Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology.

Student Training :
Industrial local tour to Simplex Industries (Bhilai), Beekay Industries (Bhilai) and CSEB (Raipur) was organized on 26th March, 2010 for the first year students to enrich the practical knowledge in the area of manufacturing panels which is at most required as per CSVTU syllabus to make the students enjoy learning as well to understand the latest technology adopted in practice.

Visit to IIT Kharaghpur :
Columbia Institute of Engineering and Technology got a golden opportunity to participate in the Techfest and reprent the growing education in the field of engineering and technology in the Chhattisgarh State. The students were guided by Ms. Ashalat Sharma, Lecturer, CIET. The participation was appreciated among the follow participants as well. It was in the great learning for the students as well as their guide.
